Laura Gately is the founder of Professional Advantage Consulting, specializing in executive coaching and leadership consultation. She works with CEOs, executives, leaders, and high potentials in high-tech, research, manufacturing, transportation, service, and healthcare industries. She helps clients with professional growth, integration and transition, personal re-engagement, relationship improvement, derailment recovery, and team enhancement. Laura has an M.A. and Ph.D. in Psychology from Texas Woman’s University and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas.

While I am not “on the ground” everyday with Dr. Edwards and her amazing team, I am honored to be associated with the efforts that are being made by this group of dedicated individuals to improve the world for our children. I am humbled and impressed by the expertise and drive of everyone involved in this organization. As a Board member, I have learned a great deal about evidence-based violence prevention and believe this has allowed me the opportunity to better equipped those around me to make a difference. I fully expect Alteristic to “change the world.”

Full disclosure, I actually prefer to laugh with my friends than confront bad behavior in others. I would rather focus on what is right in the world, like dessert and dogs, than dwell on what is broken. I think hot summers in Texas can bring out the cranky in everyone, no matter how optimistic and kind they are. My vision of heaven, includes hanging out with a bunch of ridiculously funny people I love, near water and beautiful nature, with lots to do when we are not exhausted from laughing so hard our stomachs hurt.
